Protest Dinner Celebrating the Butcher of Gaza!

Tuesday, March 17th,  2009

Time: 5:00pm
Location: Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, 50th St. and Park Ave., Manhattan
Directions: 6 to 51st/E/V to Lexington Ave.
More:

Stand in Solidarity with the Palestinian People of Gaza and in outrage against an elite fundraising dinner ($1,000 a plate) for the Israeli Occupation Forces. Butcher of Gaza, Israeli Occupation Forces Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, will be the featured speaker at this dinner, raising money for the "Friends" of the Israeli Occupation Forces in New York!

Over 1,300 Palestinians were murdered in cold-blood in the recent attacks on Gaza, and thousands more have died before and since due to the IOF's genocidal blockade. This is the criminal behavior which the "Friends" of the IOF want to raise more money to fund!

While New Yorkers lose their jobs and homes in increasing numbers every day, billions of our tax dollars go every year to fund murder and oppression of Palestinians--but for the super-rich dining at the Waldorf, even that's not enough!

While diners inside the Waldorf party to raise money for murderers, an American citizen, Tristan Anderson lies in critical condition from a tear gas canister (paid for with US tax dollars) fired at him during a peaceful protest Friday in the West Bank. A fellow protestor said "He had a large hole in the front of his head, and his brain was visible." (Ha'aretz, 3/14/2009).

This is the kind of cold-blooded murder Palestinians face every day, and which diners at this event want to raise more money for! Join Al-Awda NY, the Palestine Right to Return Coalition, to protest this outrage!

WAR CRIMINALS NOT WELCOME HERE! PROTEST "FRIENDS OF THE IOF"!

RESTORE THE PALESTINIANS OF GAZA TO

                                    THEIR RIGHTFUL HOMES
                      - End the Israeli Occupation of Palestine!

On Monday January 19th, 2009, people all across the United States will
celebrate the life, legacy, and birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr., who was assassinated by a racist's bullet on April 4th,
1968. Dr. King was one of the foremost leaders of the Black civil
rights movement in this country, an organizer extraordinaire for peace
and justice, and an eloquent orator who challenged racism, injustice,
and oppression everywhere.

Approximately 1,400 Palestinians have been slaughtered since the
Israeli Massacres of Gaza began 17 days ago, with over 4,600 injured
and the Massacres by the Zionist Israeli State Continue Unabated as
the world watches in silence & complicity.

The thousands and thousands of Black civil rights organizers and
activists, with Dr. King as one of their representatives, were people
of courageous action, many of whom gave their lives to the struggle
for Black liberation, and they would not have stood idly by while this
new war on the Palestinians is being waged.

Stop Massacres in Gaza & Break the Siege!!

More than 350 Palestinians were murdered in 2 days. 1,600 wounded!

After the huge demo on last Sunday, where more than 4,000 people showed support, and the other demos during this week, let's keep the street shaking!!

Act now before it’s too late!
Protest against the Israeli genocide against Palestinians!
Stop U.S. support to Israel!
January 3rd. - 1 pm
Times Square, 42nd and 7th ave.
Followed by a march to the Israeli mission.

Trains: N,Q,R,S,W,1,2,3,7 to Times Square

We must act now, before the massacres continue! Over 360 people were killed in Gaza since Saturday, December 27 in a series of Israeli attacks - with US-made and paid for weaponry - upon the Palestinian people. These cold-blooded killings come on top of a siege on Gaza that has killed hundreds by depriving them of medical care, deprived Gazans of electricity, power and fuel and attempted to strangle the life of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The people of Gaza are standing steadfast in the face of these massacres but our voices must be heard to demand an immediate end to the massacres and an end to US aid to Israel! The Israeli military is promising more massacres - we must say no NOW!

Join the Popular Conference for Palestinians in the U.S.

Chicago, Illinois 08/08/2008

www.palestineconference.org

Efforts to convene a popular conference for Palestinians in the United States on August 8, 2008 continue unabated. It has been little over a year since the call for a popular conference for the Palestinian people in the US was circulated. Since then, the response has been, for the most part, enthusiastic. More meetings were convened. More ideas were exchanged. Students, youth, workers, housekeepers, artists, and teachers who spearheading this endeavor recognize the imperative of holding a community-wide meeting of Palestinian Americans for the purpose of making our community’s contribution to the Palestinian struggle more effective and united.

Through Family Sponsorship, your family now has the unique opportunity to help alleviate the suffering of impoverished families in Gaza Strip, Palestine, and show solidarity to those who are impacted the most by the dire humanitarian crisis.

Family sponsorship is a community development initiative that aims to change lives by delivering long-lasting, self-sustaining improvements to help lift generations out of poverty. Your sponsorship will empower parents and children caught in the cycle of poverty.

With your support of $3 per day, delivered in direct monetary assistance (Cash), you are giving your sponsored family the option of sustaining essential life needs, be it food, health, education or merely coming out of crisis.

Your own family will experience the joy of building bridges with your sponsored family as you begin to build a relationship with them. Your children will learn invaluable lessons about caring, sharing and selfless kindness. You will have the option of contacting your sponsored family, and even visiting them as a show of your solidarity with their struggle for dignity, national and human rights.

Family-to-Family sponsorship aims to alleviate the suffering of impoverished families, and provide minimum support to the family unit to sustain itself.

The network also aims to help the families further by supporting education related projects that would provide an incentive for children and youth to continue their educations with the Back to School Schoolbag & Tools program and the Kasid University scholarship program. Please see our website for more details.
