Friday July 30: March for Immigrants' Rights

The news that a federal judge rejected some of the worst parts of SB1070 does not mean that the struggle to stop the attacks in Arizona is over.  The damage has been done in creating a climate of terror against immigrants of color in that state. Law enforcement officials, especially the ones with Joe Arpaio mentality, are emboldened despite the court ruling and are not likely to go back from their reign of terror without our continued struggle.

Over 400,000 immigrants will be deported this year by the Obama administration. Even if all of SB1070 is repealed, the policies of 287(g) and Secure Communities are terrorizing immigrants in every corner of this country.  This is another kind of SB1070 that is being imposed at this very minute in every state of this country.

The only solution to the attacks on immigrants is full legalization & rights for the undocumented.
